OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE

At Colegio Peruano Británico, our students apply their empathy and kindness by making meaningful connections with the communities around them. They discover how they can make a positive difference and contribute to the world.

In this way, our students’ different service projects prepare them beyond the IB Diploma and they become open to international pathways and careers, guided by a sense of purpose that lasts a lifetime.

SERVICE STARTS IN OUR COMMUNITY

Through trips and service outreach to our communities in Lima, our students learn to understand different social environments and consider ways they can be helpful.

They volunteer at elderly homes, teach writing to orphans, and fundraise for low-income communities and social groups such as the Children's Hospital, the Asylum for Abandoned Women, and the Make a Wish Foundation.

Our entrepreneurial students fundraise through events and activities such as Family Day, Casual Days, bottle cap collections, and natural disaster relief to generate funds and support our local community. They continue these initiatives throughout the school year, so they learn to manage a social project until it meets or exceeds its goal.

BUILDING GLOBAL AWARENESS

At Colegio Peruano Británico, service is a distinct component of the IB Diploma programme that all our students work on, from their youngest years until their graduation and beyond. In this way, during their time at CPB, our students connect their projects to the larger international aspects of the IB and learn how to apply their skills in the real world. This helps them make more informed choices on their university and potential career paths.

As part of our international culture of global values, all our students learn to research, understand, and debate current issues. Our specifically designed Secondary course, ‘Global Politics and Citizenship,’ focusses on current issues. This course helps our students consider how they can make a difference not only locally but also globally.

Students who are especially interested in exploring this outside the classroom participate in our Model United Nations (MUN) student group. Our MUN group focuses on debates and solutions to today's global challenges, as they practice their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

CREATING AN AMAZING, INTERNATIONAL FUTURE

At Colegio Peruano Británico, our social purpose is driven by our belief that education has the power to change the world. Because of our talented teachers and exceptional learning experiences, our students are inspired to make positive changes around them.
